Robert C. Drake Sr. is the Senior Pastor/Teacher of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. A native of Louisville, Kentucky, Pastor Drake is the ninth and youngest child of the Late Rev. & Mrs. Earl W. Drake Sr. He received his formal education in the Louisville public school system and attended Simmons College of Kentucky from 2001 – 2003. He received his diploma from Kentucky College of Barbering and is a licensed barber at the Best Way Barber Shop in Louisville, Ky.  He is a member of the Interdenominational Ministerial Coalition, where he serves as Treasurer, and led St. Luke MBC to be the third church to join the 1 Body Fellowship, founded by Pastor Timothy E. Findley, Jr.  He is also a devoted member of the Shelby, Henry, and Oldham Counties Ministers and Deacon Meeting.  Initially, he served as Historian for the organization, but as he continued to grow spiritually so did his talents.  He was elected Vice Moderator and is now currently serving as Moderator.

Robert C. Drake Sr. accepted his call into the preaching ministry in the year of 2006 and was ordained April of 2008.   In May 2008, the call was extended for him to pastor St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, after the death of his predecessor Rev. Walter W. Ballinger. He served as an associate minister under Rev. Ballinger where he lead bible study and delivered the morning message during Rev. Ballinger’s illness. God has favored him by allowing tremendous growth to accompany his ministry.  Under the pastorate of Rev. Drake, St. Luke MBC has added many ministries such as New Members Orientation, Reach Out and Touch Ministry, Website, Audio Ministry and an active Board of Trustees. He has also led us to become a member of the Kentucky Baptist Convention (KBC) while still belonging to the General Association of Baptist in Kentucky. They have also enhanced their current ministries and are working diligently to press forward reaching new heights.  Rev. Drake emphasizes kingdom building and with his guidance, St. Luke MBC has also become a lighthouse in their community. He knows that it is a blessing from God to pastor the same church that his father Rev. Earl W. Drake Sr. pastored for over 30 years.

He is most proud of the spiritual guidance he receives from his pastor & friend Rev. Phillip Hodge, pastor of Fifth Street Baptist Church Louisville, Ky. Pastor Drake is truly grateful for all of his accomplishments and gives all the glory to God for his many gifts. He believes that it is by God’s Grace that he is what he is today, and holds fast to his belief that God isn’t through with him yet, and the best is yet to come. He is the father of three daughters Tyeisha, Kirsten and Ryeisha one son Robert Jr. and grandfather of six Naudea, Khadin, DeMarcus, Jr., Journey, Shalona, and Kaleb.
